Green tea from apan differs significantly from green teas from other countries. The tea originally came from China to Japan. China is still one of the largest producers of green tea today. But the Chinese and the Japanese tea differ considerably from each other. The taste of Japanese tea is finer and fresher. This is due on the one hand to the soil, fertilization and climatic conditions, and on the other hand to the different production methods.. Japan is the only non-agricultural country in the world where large quantities of tea are produced. In the high-tech country of Japan, the production methods for green tea are also highly developed. You can also buy cheaper Matcha from China, but China has big problems to produce tea of reasonably good quality. Already the colour of cheaper Matcha is very different from that of a Matcha of high or highest quality. Good Matcha has a fresh light green colour without any hint of yellow tinge. Yellowish grey Matcha is not suitable for drinking. At best it can be used for colouring food.

Japanese green teas are produced without any fermentation. They retain their fresh green colour and clear taste. Chanomiya supplies only the highest quality tea from the best tea plantations in Japan.
